Microsoft New Zealand's first partnership get-together in this country - the two-day Connectionz conference - wound up last night with a black-tie awards ceremony celebrating the very best Microsoft partnerships at Auckland Museum.

The top overall partnership solution of the year award went to Wellington-based software development company and Microsoft Gold Partner, Provoke. The other premier award - small business partner solution of the year - went to fellow Wellington-based accounting software company, Xero.

There were than 70 entries from the Microsoft New Zealand partner community received across the 13 award categories.

A regular event in Australia, it was the first time a Microsoft partners' conference has been held in New Zealand. Subtitled "All in IT together", the Auckland event featured a line-up of national and international speakers assembled especially for the Microsoft Partner community.

The conference is destined to become a regular New Zealand event with planning already underway for next year's conference.
